Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport
With nearly 38 million passengers handled in 2018, Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) ranked as the seventeenth busiest airport in the United States.
The primary international airport serving Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota's twin cities, is MSP.
The airport serves as a hub for Sun Country Airlines, which is based in Minnesota, and for Delta Air Lines, which accounts for around 65% of MSP's yearly passenger volume.
Airport Terminals at MSP
Two terminals make up Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP): Terminal 1 Lindbergh, named for aviator Charles Lindbergh, and Terminal 2 Humphrey, honoring former U.S. Vice President Hubert Humphrey.
There are no walkways between Terminals 1 and 2, which are around 3 miles away from one another via vehicle. Passengers must take the METRO Blue Line's light rail transit service, which stops at both terminals, to go between them.
The trip between the terminals is free, however travelers also have the choice to pay to continue their journey by taking the Blue Line north or south.
Terminal 1 is the larger of the 2 terminals with the majority of flight operations and airport facilities. Some ground transportation services only depart from Terminal 1.
Airport Transportation
Passengers are taken between the main terminal and the departure concourses inside the security area using automated people movers.
Concourses 1 and 3 are served by 2 lines that are situated on the east side of the main terminal, while Concourses 2 and 4 are served by the other 2 lines that are based on the west side of the main terminal.
Recently, a new fifth line was constructed outside of the protected zone to transport people to and from the new Terminal C and Parking Garage 3.
Bus Shuttle
A free shuttle bus that runs continuously between Terminals A, B, and C is available for use by passengers. Level 1 slot B29 outside Terminal B and Level 6 arrivals outside Terminal C are where passengers are picked up and dropped off.

There are no pedestrian walkways connecting the main terminal's departure concourses, therefore all travelers must use the APM. Only if your connecting flight leaves from the same concourse or another concourse on the same side of the airport is walking an option.
Two concourses are accessible from each security checkpoint, thus if you needed to connect from Concourse 3 to Concourse 1, you could exit the APM at Concourse 3 and ride it directly to Concourse 1. This does not include people arriving from overseas flights because they must pass through immigration and customs.
At MCO, there are no electric carts available, but travelers with mobility concerns can ask their airline for help.
To and From Minneapolis International Airport
Train is one option for transportation to and from MSP.
Between downtown Minneapolis and the Mall of America, the LRT's Blue Line makes stops at MSP's Terminals 1 and 2. Passengers can switch from the Blue Line to the Green Line or Red Line for services to Saint Paul or Apple Valley, respectively.
The trip to downtown Minneapolis takes around 25 minutes, with trains leaving every 10 minutes during peak hours and every 10-15 minutes off-peak.
Buses Metro Transit:
The city service bus number 54 travels from the airport's Terminal 1 to Saint Paul, where passengers may connect to other buses that travel to downtown Minneapolis. Only Terminal 1 serves as the arrival and departure point for city buses, therefore riders must take the free LRT from Terminal 2.
Jefferson Lines Bus:
From the Terminal 1 transit station, scheduled buses to Iowa, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, and Wisconsin depart. At the GO Rochester Direct desk, tickets can be purchased in person or online.
Scheduled services:
Buses, vans, and limos can be reserved in advance or arranged after you are in MSP (bookings are recommended for out of town services). For pre-bookings or for ticket counters, visit the ground transportation facility; MSP recommends these businesses.
Shared-ride Services:
SRS is offered by SuperShuttle and can be reserved in advance or when you arrive at the ground transportation location. You may make reservations by calling 800-258-3826 or going to supershuttle.com.
Taxi:
Taxis may be found at Terminal 2's ground transportation hub and Terminal 1's level T. The cost is between $39 and $49 to get to downtown Minneapolis, and between $31 and $38 to get to Saint Paul.
Airport Lounges in MSP
There are 5 lounges in MSP, and day passes are available for 2 of them. The Armed Forces Service Center is only open to active-duty military personnel, while the 2 Delta Sky Clubs are only open to passengers in premium cabins or qualifying frequent flyer members.
MSP's Airport Restaurants and Bars
More than 50 eateries, cafes, and grab-and-go food alternatives are available in MSP. Nearly all of these cafes are situated inside the guarded area, so travelers who want to get a bite to eat before taking off must check in and pass through security.
Wi-Fi and Charging Stations at MSP Airport
Once visitors have passed through the security section and are in the public parts of MSP, free Wi-Fi is accessible.
You may connect using 'MSP Free Wi-Fi' or 'Boingo Hotspot' and get two hours of free browsing. Passengers can reconnect for another 2-hour session when the timer expires an unlimited number of times.
Mobile charging stations may be found at Terminals 1 and 2, scattered throughout the buildings.
