Air Canada has a long history that dates back more than eight decades. It is the largest airline established in Canada and the country's flag carrier. With its wide fleet of short, medium, and long-haul aircraft, the founding member of Star Alliance has its headquarters in Saint-Laurent, Quebec, and travels to over 220 locations across its global network.

Trans-Canada Air Lines was founded in April 1937, which is when Air Canada first appeared. Over the years, the firm continued to pave the way for commercial passenger flying in Canada. Before being privatized in 1988, the company adopted the moniker Air Canada in 1965. Since its inception, Air Canada has become a global giant that has adapted to the constantly shifting conditions of the aviation business, currently providing service to more than 50 million people.

Destinations

In Asia, Africa, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania, Air Canada flies to 64 domestic and 158 foreign destinations. The airline offers service to more than 222 locations in 47 nations and across six continents through its regional partners.

Classes of Travel Air Canada Offers

We look at the several classes of service that are offered to travelers with the largest fleet and most comprehensive foreign network of any Canadian carrier.

Narrow bodies and wide bodies from both Airbus and Boeing are included in the diversified fleet that Air Canada operates. The airline provides significant local, North American, and international flights using these aircraft. Air Canada offers a wide selection of travel classes with flights of various lengths and across several boundaries.

The only three travel classes offered by Air Canada's mainline operations are as follows:

Signature/Business: The highest level of service provided by the airline is Signature/Business. International Business Class was replaced with the phrase 'Signature', whilst Business Class exclusively refers to North American services.

Pods with lie-flat seats are available in this class for long-distance, international flights. Business class is often only a bigger, more luxurious recliner-style seat on North American flights.

When Air Canada uses its wide bodies on specific domestic flights, there are exceptions. Premium guests get access to the airline's lie-flat seats when an A330, 777, or 787 is used on a transcontinental flight.

Travelers may fully enjoy the premium features and plush luxury of International Business Class, the top tier of Air Canada, up front. Depending on the kind of aircraft, your Executive Pod may feature both the Classic Pod and the Studio Pod in order to provide you the maximum amount of privacy and personal space. A completely lie-flat bed that extends from 6'3" to 6'7" is available in all Business Class seats, which also have an adjustable pneumatic cushion, headrest, and lumbar support with massage capabilities. Each seat has a USB port, single-pin audio jack, and personal power supply. The most recent entertainment may be seen on a brand-new, cutting-edge video/audio system, equipped with noise-cancelling headphones and an on-demand touch-screen that ranges in size from 12" to 18", depending on the aircraft.

Premium Economy: Premium economy is an option on many transcontinental flights as well as several North American airlines. Premium economy is similar to North American business class, but stands out for having reclining seats and bigger IFE displays. Air Canada employs its wide bodies on a few domestic routes, which is another exception to the rule that is mostly seen on its international services.

Air Canada Premium Economy Class offers noticeable enhancements above Economy Class for a tenth of the price of a Business Class seat. A welcome drink, an amenity box, a blanket, and a pillow are included with the bigger, more reclined seat, in addition to hot towel service. Enjoy a variety of wines, beers, and spirits while dining on your preferred premium hot entree. Enjoy movies, TV shows, audiobooks, music, and other content on your own touch-screen entertainment system, which is available on demand. Each seat has an in-seat power outlet, a USB port, a single-pin audio connector, and a free headset.

Economy: This is the airline's lowest tier of service, and it is offered on all flights. Economy class could be the sole service offered on flights using Air Canada's smallest regional aircraft, including the Dash 8 and CRJ series.

With cutting-edge in-flight entertainment systems and charging outlets at every seat, the airline's North American economy offerings are among the finest among its rivals. On international flights, economy class is generally the same as on domestic flights. The primary distinction is that these lengthier international routes offer free food services.

Take advantage of some of the cheapest prices available while travelling in North American Economy Class, which offers up to 600 hours of on-demand seat-back entertainment. While travelling internationally, your Air Canada Economy Class seat has the same cutting-edge seat-back entertainment as well as a USB port, in-seat electricity, an audio jack, and headphones. A complementary hot dinner with a variety of wines and spirits is also included. Unwind with the welcoming, responsive service you've come to expect and ambient mood lighting intended to reduce jet lag.

Meals: Depending on your destination and point of departure, Air Canada offers a variety of meal alternatives. All overseas flights offer free meals, which include choices of wine and beer. Nevertheless, meals are not provided on domestic flights in North America and the Caribbean.

For flights longer than two hours, you can order from the Air Canada Bistro menu, which offers a selection of hot and cold food options. Tea, juice, and Lavazza coffee are all free.
