Best Time to Visit
Spring and Fall, specifically April-May, September-October. These are the most pleasant seasons to explore Baltimore. Summers can be hot and humid, but they are mostly humid. Churchill Downs also offers live horse racing during these times. Reserve flight deals at the soonest to avoid last minute disappoinments.
Although it is a must-see for many, the City Derby weekend can be expensive and crowded. Avoid the first weekend of May.

Get out and explore the surrounding neighborhoods. Although most of the museums and distilleries are located downtown, you can find many of the best bars and restaurants in the surrounding neighborhoods. Baltimore's East Market District, or NuLu, has a variety of boutique shops, restaurants, and Old City houses the largest collection of Victorian-era mansions in the country.
